We are going to follow an approach similar to that in Keyboard layout.

Copy the file /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/

In the copied file, modify the following line

Option "TapButton3" "3"

to

Option "TapButton3" "0"
